de Leon Reunion 2011

Many de Leon's have served their country. From today until Veteran's day 2009 I will leave this blog open for you to identify decendants of Don Martin and Patricia de la Garza who have served in the military. Those that are identified can be currently serving, or they can have served in the Civil War, or even be recognized with service to the American Revolution. List the name of the decendant, (b.date, d.date), what rank (if you know), and descibe the service.  List any military distinction/recognition the ancestor received. If you got your information from a book or web site please give the author credit. We can take this list and honor our family that have served at our reunion.

My grandmother was born in Sejita Texas. Her maiden name was Benavides - she had a brother Ross. I do not know her Father's name - her mothers name was Eva. Grandma was buried 17 yrs ago and I am starting to work on my family tree. Any chance her father who was a cattleman is related to you somehow. My father never got to meet him, eventually her mother remarried to a man by the last name Vega. I am interested in the Benavides history that she has.
